The winners of the first edition of the PEWTA award were announced during the gala night at ECOMM 2008 The first edition of the Pan European Workplace Mobility Plan Awards was launched this year by EPOMM within the framework of the COMMERCE project. The competition was open to two different types of applicants: Employers who have established successful mobility plans in their organisation and Public Authorities which are promoting the set up of workplace mobility plans within their territory. This year the "Employers" award was hosted by the COMMERCE project in conjunction with the International Transport Forum. The winner of the Employers category is ST Microelectronics Grenoble. The three shortlisted candidates are: Stansted Airport, Inficon AG and the London Borough of Lambeth. The winner of the Public Authorities category is Grenoble Alpes Metropole. The three shortlisted candidates are: the Brussels region, the City of Zurig and West Trans. Applications for the next round of applications will be published in October 2008. |

PEWTA - Pan European Workplace Mobility Plan Award for Public Authorities COMMERCE is staging an award for municipalities to showcase their efforts in promoting Workplace Mobility Plans (or Travel Plans) locally and regionally. The award ceremony will take place during the European conference on Mobility Management on 5 June 2008. The winner will be invited to attend ECOMM and receive a study trip to a best practice site in Europe The deadline for submitting applications is 25 April 2008. | First week of June 2008 | COMMERCE induction seminar and PGM2 - June 2nd to 6th | ||||||||||||||||||||

The COMMERCE induction seminar will take place in London from 2nd to 4th June. The objective of the seminar is to provide all 4 Learner cities with the information needed to develop a local workplace mobility forum and action plan. The seminar will be based on the Mobility Plan Guidebook that has been developed by CRIF and provide examples of best practice. The delegates will be key people in charge of developing the mobility management agenda in each of the four "learner" cities. At the end of the seminar delegates will have developed action plans for the establishment of their own City Mobility Networks. The PMG meeting will take place on Monday June 2nd and Friday June 6th. Project partners will also be attending the ECOMM conference, where COMMERCE and the partners' experiences in Mobility Management will be featured in the parallel sessions. Attachments:

COMMERCE and the International Transport Forum have launched an exciting awards scheme for both municipalities and companies. The PEWTA awards Pan European Workplace Travel Awards will recognise best practice in the development and implementation of mobility plans. | 30/03/2008 | First Project Meeting - Paris | ||||||||||||||||||||

The first meeting of the project partners took place in November 2007. The meeting was hosted by the Region Ile De France in Paris. Each partner presented an overview of their local transport situation, copies of the presentations can be viewed through the partner pages. An exciting development at the meeting was the development of a joint action with the International Transport Forum. The COMMERCE project partners were joined at the meeting by Mary Crass from the ITF, it was agreed that COMMERCE will work in partnership with the ITF to launch and run an award for a company mobility plan. The award will be presented at the ITF forum in May 2008 and will be recognised at ECOMM 08 in June in London. Other key tasks that were agreed were: Research into best practice in mobility planning to be coordinated by RATB and EPOMM Development of a European Standard for mobility plans to be coordinated by RATB The next meeting of the COMMERCE project will take place in London in June 08 to coincide with the ECOMM 08 event. |
